About: A lively Gamay by Jean Maupertuis from old vines growing 450m above sea-level on black volcanic soils, resulting in a wine rich in minerality and earthyness. The Auvergne Gamay's fruity character - with notes of damson and sour cherries on the palate - is balanced out nicely by the mineral edge and easy-drinking tannins. Slightly funky on the nose once opened which settles once left to breathe. Serve chilled alongside cheese and charcuterie, or poultry and vegetarian dishes.
